When Freshman Adrian Wilson-Moore first heard about the Robotics team in middle school, his interest peaked.
“I didn’t know much about it,” he said, “I was just very interested in it.” But as he got used to the coding, building and the competitions, he gained a love for robotics that he didn’t know was possible.
“I like it because it works with computers, and I love working with computers,” he said. He joined the Area 51 Robotics team during his time in Laurens Middle School, and has just recently joined the First Robotz Garage team in LDHS. He recommends the team to anyone who wants to try something new, or anyone who enjoys electronic-based things.
Nowadays, Wilson-Moore plays piano to pass his time, and he’s learning to play guitar. He plans on joining the soccer team, and is thinking about joining track. He is also in the process of creating a video game.
“School is very good actually,” Wilson-Moore said. “It was very hard at first, but as I got used to the new environment, I realized that I could be my own person. That’s why I believe that people should join the robotics team, so they can try new things to make them more comfortable.”
Wilson-Moore is described as a funny and hard-working student by his teachers and his peers.
“Adrian is a great student,” Integrated Science teacher William Woods said “He brings some light into the classroom.”
As his freshman year progresses, Wilson-Moore continues to bring his genius to LDHS.
