The Sword & Shield is Laurens District 55’s student led newsprint publication.

Our website hold digital copies of our printed work, special edition articles (website only) and additional photographs.

Just as we have website only articles, we have print only editions, such as Meet the Raiders, Raider Roundup, Letters to the Editor, Fantastic Five, Crossword/puzzle or Spotify playlist links.

The purpose of Sword & Shield is to inform and entertain through accurate and responsible reporting. Un-bylined editorials reflect the views of the staff and are not necessarily the views of the school board, administration, faculty or student body. All bylined editorials, cartoons and columns reflect the opinion of the writers or artists. Sword & Shield welcomes letters to the editor, which should be signed, include the student’s grade level and be given to adviser Amy George in person, via email or by scanning the QR code on the Opinion page prior to publication. Sword & Shield is an open forum.
