The LDHS girls’ soccer team is very excited for the 2018-19 soccer season. The team has a lot of players returning along with many newcomers.

This year one of the newcomers is coach Christina Earley, who is a very experienced soccer player. She played soccer throughout middle school, high school and college.

The girls, along with their coach, are working very hard.

“I am looking forward to a great season,” Earley said.

According to assistant coach John Avery, this year we also have a JV soccer program, called the Laurens District 55 subdivision soccer team, available at all four middle schools. The teams will play a 10-game schedule. All games will be played at the high school against other middle schools.

The soccer teams have already tried out, and players are conditioning. On Tuesdays, they run and practice with the ball, and they weight lift on Thursdays.

The first scrimmage for the LDHS girls’ soccer team is Feb. 7 at Clinton High School.
